Cells, the basic unit of life (living things), form the organisms unicellular and multicellular (1, 2). It was discovered by Robert Hooke (3, 4). All cells (prokaryotes and eukaryotes) have certain general life characteristics such as: metabolism, environmental adaptation, homeostasis, growth and development, reproduction and evolution (5, 6). The cells have many structural similarities, even if they belong to different organisms (monera, protista, plantae, fungi and animalia), so a general cell structure can be described (7). In term of molecular composition, a cell is composed of inorganic (water and inorganic ions) and organic (macromolecules and small organic molecules) molecules (8). Finally, there are several theories about the origin of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells (9).
